The small mods made Sonic feel like mine. These were the changes that made it look like nothing else.
The Big One
The big step came when I was made redundant in June 2026. I dedicated a couple of thousand pounds to the changes I'd been thinking about since I first saw that other Model 3: bronze alloys, the aero body kit and a rear wing.
Four Months at Sea
The bronze alloys came from China and took four months to arrive by sea. That wait felt endless.
Against white paint and black detailing, the bronze is what pulls the whole look together.
Body Kit and GT Wing
The body kit is the same aero kit I fell for on the car that was £100 out of my budget. The splitter, side skirts and diffuser change the shape of the car from every angle.
At the back, the GT wing gives Sonic its silhouette. It's the part people notice first.
The Finishing Touches
Since then it's been a few smaller tweaks: the red trim on the diffuser and some of the decals.
That's where Sonic is today. There's still a list of things to do, and that's the next diary.
