Overview
The EV4 comes in two body styles: a five-door hatchback and a four-door Fastback saloon. The EV4 Fastback GT takes the same GT hardware as the hatch and puts it in the lower, longer saloon body.
The hardware
Two motors drive all four wheels, with 215 kW (292 PS) combined: 145 kW at the front and 70 kW at the rear. Kia quotes 0–62 mph in 5.6 seconds. Both GT versions get electronically controlled dampers with GT-specific tuning, 20-inch alloy wheels with performance tyres, and a dedicated GT drive mode. These are manufacturer figures, not VOLT-AGE test results.
Battery and range
Power comes from the 81.4 kWh long-range battery. Kia quotes a WLTP range of up to 537 km, about 334 miles, for the EV4 GT Fastback.
Why it matters
The standard EV4 Fastback is about efficiency, with a slippery shape and a single front motor. The GT gives the same shape a sharper edge. It is a compact electric performance saloon from a mainstream brand, and that is still a rare thing.
