Overview
The Eletre 900 Sport brings Lotus into a very different kind of performance conversation: an electric SUV with the power to challenge cars far smaller than itself. Where the Evija explores the hypercar extreme, the Eletre puts electric performance into a more everyday shape.
The hardware
Lotus quotes up to 675 kW, or 905 bhp, and 985 Nm for the Eletre 900 powertrain. Two electric motors provide four-wheel drive, while a two-speed transmission helps deliver its combination of acceleration and high-speed performance. The UK 900-series figures include 0–62 mph in 2.95 seconds.
Different moods
Sport mode sharpens throttle response and steering and adjusts the suspension for a more dynamic drive. The 900 series also offers a performance-focused mode with reduced ride height and a higher threshold for stability-control intervention. Drivers can personalise steering, suspension, throttle response and traction-control settings.
Why it matters
An SUV is a long way from the traditional Lotus sports-car recipe. That tension is what makes the Eletre interesting: the challenge is not just producing huge power, but giving a larger machine a convincing driver-focused identity. It earns its place here as another direction electric performance can take.
