Overview
The Taycan was Porsche's first series-production all-electric sports car, and it still sets the tone for how a performance EV should feel from behind the wheel.
The hardware
An 800-volt electrical architecture sits at its core, paired with a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle, an unusual choice for an EV that speaks to Porsche's obsession with how the car pulls at every speed.
The range
Buyers in the UK can choose between the saloon, the Sport Turismo and the raised Cross Turismo, with versions running from the rear-wheel-drive Taycan up to the Turbo S and Turbo GT.
Why it matters
For a lot of drivers, the Taycan was the car that proved an electric performance car could carry a proper sports-car badge. It's the benchmark the rest of this directory gets measured against.
