Overview
The Model Y is one of the world's best-selling cars. The Model Y Performance is the version for drivers who want that everyday practicality with a much sharper edge. Revealed in August 2025, it uses the same Performance motors as the Model 3 Performance in a family crossover.
The hardware
Two motors drive all four wheels. UK launch figures quote around 460 bhp, 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph, with a WLTP range of up to 360 miles. It went on sale in the UK from £61,990, with deliveries beginning in October 2025.
Built to be driven
A new adaptive suspension system adjusts to the road and driving style in real time, with driving modes that change suspension response, stability control and power delivery. Visually, the Performance gets its own front and rear bumpers, a carbon-fibre spoiler, red brake calipers and 21-inch Arachnid 2.0 forged wheels.
Why it matters
Electric performance has made speed far more accessible, and the Model Y Performance is a clear example. A family crossover with this kind of acceleration would have sounded ridiculous a decade ago. Now it is one of the most common ways people experience a seriously quick EV.
