Hyundai IONIQ 5 N

The IONIQ 5 N is the first fully electric car from Hyundai's N performance division, and it carries the same mindset as the petrol hot hatches that made the N badge matter: driver first, numbers second.

The hardware

Two motors and all-wheel drive run from an 84kWh battery, with N Grin Boost adding a short burst of extra power on demand.

Built to be driven

N e-shift simulates the gear changes of a dual-clutch gearbox, N Active Sound+ adds a synthesised soundtrack inside and out, and the chassis software lets drivers adjust the front-to-rear torque split. It's a performance EV that expects to be used properly.
