Overview

The Nevera is the car that put Rimac on the hypercar map. Built in Croatia as the production version of the C_Two concept, it takes its name from a sudden, powerful Mediterranean storm that races across the sea off the Croatian coast. Rimac set out to build an electric hypercar with no compromises, and production is limited to 150 cars.

The hardware

Four electric motors, one at each wheel, draw on a 120 kWh, H-shaped battery pack designed by Rimac from scratch. Rimac quotes 1,914 hp (1.4 MW), 0–100 km/h in 1.81 seconds, 0–300 km/h in 9.22 seconds, a quarter mile in 8.25 seconds and a top speed of 412 km/h (258 mph). These are manufacturer figures, not VOLT-AGE test results.

Built around the battery

The battery sits low and central in a carbon-fibre monocoque and forms part of the structure, adding 37 per cent to its stiffness. That placement gives the Nevera a very low centre of gravity, while Rimac's All-Wheel Torque Vectoring system controls exactly how much torque reaches each wheel.

A record breaker

In 2023 alone the Nevera set more than 20 performance records, including an electric production car lap record at the Nürburgring of 7:05.298. The later Nevera R pushed further, with 2,107 hp from a new 108 kWh battery, a fixed rear wing and an enlarged diffuser for 15 per cent more downforce.

Why it matters

The Nevera proved that a small company outside the traditional supercar heartlands could build the fastest-accelerating cars on the road and do it with electric power. It belongs in this directory as the benchmark every electric hypercar now gets measured against.
