Overview
The Model S Plaid Signature Series is Tesla's farewell to its original flagship: a final, limited run of Plaid Model S and Model X built before both programmes come to an end.
The hardware
Underneath is the familiar Plaid recipe: Tri-Motor All-Wheel Drive with torque vectoring and three carbon-sleeved rotors, rated by Tesla at over 1,000 horsepower and a 200 mph top speed.
What makes it a Signature
Signature cars are finished in an exclusive Garnet Red with gold accents inside and out, gold Plaid seat badges and piping, and a numbered dash plate. The Model S also gets carbon ceramic brakes with gold calipers.
Why it matters
Just 350 Signature Series cars are being made across Model S and Model X, sold by invitation only. It closes the chapter on the car that made fast EVs mainstream.
The film
See it move.
