Sonic / The VOLT‑AGE Project

Sonic / The build story

One car. An evolving vision.

Our mascot. Our ongoing build. Where VOLT‑AGE began.

How it started.

The foundation.

Sonic’s story starts with a white 2021 Tesla Model 3 Long Range AWD with Acceleration Boost. Clean lines, understated styling and electric performance provided the foundation.

The build explores how far that familiar shape can develop into something individual. Through bodywork, wheels and smaller details, Sonic has gradually taken on its own identity.

This is the starting point. The chapters that follow explain the choices, experiments and changes along the way.

Where it is now.

Finding its identity.

The front aero disc shown here is still to be fitted.

White bodywork. Black detailing. Bronze wheels. Sonic’s character comes from the relationship between those elements, from the silhouette of the rear wing to the details you notice up close.

The build has developed through experimentation. Some ideas stayed. Others changed once they were fitted and seen as part of the whole car.

These diaries document that process: what changed, why it changed, and what I learned along the way.

  • Bodywork

The splitter, skirts, diffuser and rear wing: shaping Sonic’s silhouette.

  • Wheels

The bronze wheels, fitment choices and details that change the stance.

  • Details

Lighting, badges and graphics: the smaller decisions that give the build its personality.

The end goal.

Bringing the vision together.

The next stage is about making the whole car feel resolved: the stance, bodywork, wheels and finishing details working together.

These concept images show the direction I’m exploring. They are a target to work towards, with the final choices still shaped by fit, finish and how the car works in everyday use.

For me, this version of Sonic will be complete when those details feel intentional and the car matches the vision behind the build.

Until then, each change becomes another chapter.
